20th Annual Powder Awards

December 3rd- 7th, 2020

POWDER Magazine returns to Aspen, CO, for the first time in 14 years for a special celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the POWDER Awards. The special multi-day event, will feature tribute to the top ski movies of the past 20 years, screened at Belly Up for only $5 December 3rd-5th, culminating in POWDER hosting its annual award show on December 7th at the Hotel Jerome. One of the biggest nights in skiing, the POWDER Awards attract a who’s who of the industry, including professional skiers, ski legends, ski film production crews, industry brands, media, and ski-lebrities and more. This year’s award show will be followed by a post-show party at Hotel Jerome with music by DJ Naka G.

Summit for Life

December 7th, 2019

The 13th Annual Summit Life Uphill Race invites local enthusiasts and regional sports junkies to strap on a headlamp and race up 3,267 vertical feet (over 2.5 miles) to the top of Aspen Mountain.

35th Annual Sardy House Tree Lighting

December 7th, 2020

A truly iconic one hour community event, kicking off the holiday season. Carolers, high school and middle school bands will play on the front porch of the Sardy House. Watch the lighting of one of the oldest and tallest trees in Aspen. Complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will be served. 6-7pm

Annual Tree Lighting at The Little Nell

December 8th, 2020

This festive, family-friendly event, open to all guests and community members, is held in the courtyard at The Little Nell from 5–6 pm. We’ll count down together to the exciting tree lighting as you also enjoy complimentary cookies and hot cocoa, carolers and photo ops with Santa Claus. The Aspen Animal Shelter will be on site once again with “reindeer” pups.

2019 World Snow Polo Championships

December 18th-21st, 2019

This experience showcases the “Sport of Kings” – polo, but to make things even more interesting, the matches are played on snow. The VIP tent experience is not to be missed with catered delicacies from the St. Regis Aspen chefs and all the Aspen glitterati you would expect. Complimentary sideline viewing or VIP tent tickets available through Aspen Valley Polo Club.

12 Days of Aspen

December 20th-31st, 2019

During the 12 Days of Aspen, December 20-31, the charming downtown of Aspen becomes a winter wonderland of holiday cheer. Free ice skating, concerts and carolers, and entertainment for all ages lights up the streets of Aspen. Even Santa and his reindeer join in the celebration!
And, to top it all off, we celebrate the end with a New Year’s Eve fireworks extravaganza over Aspen Mountain.

10th Annual Audi Ajax Cup

December 30th, 2019


The Ajax Cup is the cornerstone event benefiting the Aspen Valley Ski Snowboard Club. A truly exhilarating event, featuring 16 teams, each paired with a professional ski racer, competing for the famed Gorsuch Cup in a dual GS ski race followed by an Après ski party at Ajax Mountain.

Aspen Film Presents: Academy Screenings

Wintersköl – 69th Annual Celebration

January 9-12, 2020

Wintersköl, Aspen’s annual “toast to winter,” dates back to a quiet January in 1951 when local Aspenites decided to celebrate Aspen’s unique Nordic lifestyle with an eclectic weekend of festivities. The three day celebration features on-mountain activities, Fat Cycle Challenge, Soupsköl, a canine fashion show, WinterFest, snow sculpture competition, fireworks and much more!

Men’s Health/Women’s Health Village at Wintersköl

January 10th-12th, 2020

The Ultimate Party in The Snow! Free and open to everyone located at the Men’s Health/Women’s Health Lodge in the Gondola Plaza daily from 9 am – 11 am and après ski parties daily from 3-5 pm.

Gay Ski Week

January 12th-19th, 2020

Aspen Gay Ski Week is a week-long LGBTQ winter event held in January each year. Enjoy daily skiing/boarding on one of the four mountains plus après ski parties, dinners, comedy, film, boutique & art walk, nightly parties, snow shoeing, sleigh rides, yoga & spa days…and more.

X-Games Aspen 2020

January 23rd-26th, 2020

The world’s premier winter action sports event returns to Aspen for the 23rd consecutive year. Watch as snowsports’ greatest ski, snowboard & snowmobile athletes’ battle for glory in 18 different disciplines over three days accompanied by a top-tier billing of urban and electronic musical talent.
This year, the X Games Aspen concerts feature Rae Sremmurd, ILLENIUM, Alesso and Bazzi.

Nordic Bonfire Dinner

February 1, 2020

Join us for a progressive dinner on skis! Truly a one-of-a-kind event. Bring your own Nordic ski equipment or rent at the venue. Slide from stop to stop, enjoying food and beverages from the finest restaurants in the Roaring Fork Valley. The course is approximately 1.5 km. Please join us for this memorable event which benefits the Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club Nordic programs. 6-8pm at the Aspen Nordic Center.

Owl Creek Chase

February 9th, 2020

The Owl Creek Chase is a challenging, fun and scenic Nordic Ski race. The 21K course starts in Snowmass and follows the Owl Creek Trail to the finish on the Aspen Golf Course.

Ascendigo Blue Aspen

February 15th, 2020

The 9th annual Light It Up Blue Aspen event will take place February 15th, 2019 at the Hotel Jerome Aspen. This incredible evening marks a full weekend of activities in Aspen to raise awareness for autism, all benefiting Acendigo Autism Services. Celebrate with us and enjoy a lively star-studded evening of fundraising, curated cocktails and dinner stations, a live auction, special guests, and entertainment, plus exquisite food, world-class entertainment, luxury live auction items and more!

Aspen Snowmass Freeskiing Open

February 13th -15th, 2020

The Aspen Snowmass Open is one of the most elite amateur competitions among the national Skiers Association. Athletes throw down on the famed X Games slopestyle and superpipe courses over a four day period. It is also one of the last and longest running independent open competitions in the nation. It grants access to the X Games Aspen Slopestyle, Superpipe and Big Air courses at Buttermilk to amateur and professional level athletes. Last year, the open drew around 200 competitors from six nations to test their skills. Registration will open at 10am MST on Friday, November 1st, 2019. Previous winners have gone on to podium in the Winter Olympics and Winter X Games.

Audi Power of Four Ski Mountaineering Race

The Audi Power of Four Race Series is a premier endurance race series utilizing the unique and amazing terrain of each of the four Aspen Snowmass mountains designed to test the limits and skills of both elite and recreational athletes.

Après Ski Cocktail Classic

March 12th-15th, 2020

A slope-side celebration of the Après Ski Cocktail Experience in Aspen, Colorado based at the iconic The Little Nell, and featuring a Grand Tasting Village and Private Reserve Room of high marque spirits, artisanal craft cocktails, seminars by award-winning mixologists and brand ambassadors, snow parties, pop-up bars, demonstrations, fireside chats, spirit-paired dinners, special on-mountain events and The Great Après Ski Pub Crawl.

Aspen ShortsFest

March 31- April 5, 2020

Aspen Shortsfest is one of the world’s premier international showcases for the trend-setting art form: the short. This Oscar-qualifying international competition offers a lively, thought-provoking, and humorous selection of drama, comedy, animation, and documentary- all 40 minutes or less.
